It was a busy three days at London Book Fair for Wacky Bee. Back in our usual spot on the IPG shared stand, it was Queen Bee, Louise Jordan, manning the fort. Highlights included a packed panel discussion on diversity in the Children’s Hub and a Book Trust event discussing books in translation, also in the Children’s Hub. A positive meeting with South African distributor, Phambili, on The Manning Partnership stand now means that our UK books will be exported overseas for the first time, which is very exciting. And following Louise’s four minute pitch to book buyers (a nerve-wracking event organised by the Publishers’ Association) there is strong interest from Storyland, a storytelling centre based in Shanghai, China. Emily, Yiman and Candy are pictured above with Queen Bee. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us and apologies to Gina and Jennifer from Rosen Publishing in the US, who finally caught up with Queen Bee just as she was leaving on the last day. Who knew she was so hard to get hold of!
