Audiobook app, Cloudaloud, launches this week and Wacky Bee is proud to be included as one of its first partner publishers. With over 300 titles and 26 subject categories, Cloudaloud offers a safe environment for children to explore audio books by themselves. Founder Nicholas Jones explains, “It is a ‘walled garden’, self-contained and secure, offering a place for children to wander without straying out of the app or accessing inappropriate content. We want to replicate the storytelling experience that so many of today’s parents had during their childhoods by embracing the best of today’s technology.” The app currently offers à la carte titles for purchase as well as a large suite of free-to-download audiobooks, with plans for a future subscription model, offering selected content, well underway. Wacky Bee titles include ‘Geronimo,The Dog Who Thinks He’s a Cat’, ‘Philomena,The Cat Who Thinks She’s a Dog’, ‘Alfred and the Blue Whale’ and ‘Veronica Twitch, the Fabulous Witch’. New audio books will be added every two weeks (including lots more Wacky Bee titles). The integrated bookshop makes it easy to purchase print editions, entirely within the app. This will encourage reading along to favourites, a function that has been welcomed by all of us at Wacky Bee. You can download the app for free from the App Store.
