As we say goodbye to 2025 we should recap, briefly, on our successes this year. First and foremost our wonderful picture book, Grandpa Kuma, by Michelle Maiden was a Read for Empathy Collection choice. Later in the year it was also shortlisted for the Klaus Flugge Prize and The Week Junior Book Awards, and we attended glitzy award ceremonies at Waterstones Piccadilly and County Hall London to celebrate both. It was a good year for foreign rights as well, with titles being sold into Turkey, Slovenia and the US. We joined forces with new bedtime reading app Sound AiSleep and wish them every success for 2026. And finally, during our distribution move from BookSource to Combined Book Services, we were able to donate over 10,000 books to The Children’s Book Project who have just announced that with our help and support, “this week we will gift our 2 millionth book to a child in a school somewhere across the UK”. So all that leaves for us to do is to say farewell to 2025. We will be closed from Monday 22nd December, reopening on Monday 5th January. Have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
