With our recent distribution move from BookSource in Glasgow to Combined Book Services in Paddock Wood, Tonbridge, we have been able to offload slow moving stock and have donated over 10,000 books to The Children’s Book Project. During the last school year the CBP gifted over 529,000 books to 147,000 children via 658 schools, prisons, women’s groups, food banks, community groups and charities. They said, “what an amazing selection of books you have given us. With your help we are going to be able to give more children the chance to choose, own and fall in love with books. The books you have donated to us will, quite simply, transform the lives of many of the children to whom they are given. As you are all too aware, book ownership is incredibly powerful. It transforms a child’s relationship with books, how they perceive themselves as readers and raises their self esteem. Of course it also has a huge impact on their literacy rates too, which in turn can impact life outcomes. Your books will be chosen by children at our gifting events over the next few months. For many these will be the first books they have ever owned so particularly special. Children just won’t be able to believe their luck when they see your books in front of them. Thank you!” We are incredibly proud to have been able to make such a difference. To find out more about the work of The Children’s Book Project go to
